La Gazzetta di Modena 02-11-2012

Halloween è alle spalle e questo week end l’Italia del gioco e del fumetto si ritrova per le strade di Lucca nell’evento dedicato all’intrattenimento giovanile più grande di Italia: Lucca Comics & Games. Anche se il gioco non è la star di primo piano, l’occasione è comunque delle migliori per vedere le novità del mercato nel padiglione Games che comunque ancora raccoglie quasi tutti gli editori Italiani e qualche straniero. Tanti i momenti di incontro, ospiti, conferenze: da non perdere l’assegnazione del Best of Show, il più importante premio Italiano dedicato al mondo del gioco.

Pensieri Ludici: la prima serata di gioco dopo Essen

Stasera ci sarà la mia prima vera serata di gioco dopo Essen.

Sono davvero tanti i titoli che mi sono portato a casa dalla germania (circa 40kg di giochi) e molti non sono ancora riuscito a provarli. Anche se riuscissi a giocarne 4 a settimana non riuscirei a giocarli tutti prima di natale e nel frattempo so che ne comprerò degli altri: come fare ?

Father in the Messe: Top 10

Here we are with our last report of the Father in the Messe series. We really hope you liked mine and Caterina report of this convention. If you are a father gamer I really suggest you to think about attending a Convention together with your sons. Maybe it could be Vienna Spielefest or PLAY: The Games Festival (in this case you, for sure, will meet me and Caterina!).

Of course me and Caterina play games all the year and I hope to be able to post some more reports and reviews of the games (bought or received from publishers) we played: here, if something of interest for all or somewhere else (maybe on my blog or BGG) if something already seen here.

It is now time of lists, results, GeekBuzz, Fairyplay … so here our top 10 (actually my top 10 and Caterina top 7 … asking why she says “this are the games I would like in my top 10” and I wasn’t able to change her decision, not asserting that, usually, a top 10 is made of 10 games … anyway in the end I added the 3 games she ranked higher during the Messe … but only the first 7 are really in Caterina’s top 10! Crazy!).

Father in the Messe: Day 0

Here again with my Father in the Messe story: my special report about being in Essen with a kid (actually a 11 years old daughter).

Me and Caterina finally arrived in Essen. Too late to play something or to access the fair for the wednesday show … just the time to eat something at Istra Restourant (really close to the Jung hotel where we are lodged) and than ready to sleep.

The main room at Jung was, as usual, full of peoples: a quick survey, when it was still not too muc crowled, just to say hallo to my friend Mik Svellov and see some one setting up Keyflowers (I’ll take a copy tomorrow from Richard ) and the new Wallace‘s games on a table.

Pensieri Ludici: La Fiera del Gioco di Essen

Sto preparando le valige per la fiera del gioco di Essen in cui sarò da giovedì a sabato per farmi catturare e sommergere dalle novità ludiche. Oltre 800 espositori con oltre 800 giochi nuovi proposti e la certezza di non riuscire neanche a scalfire la superficie di questa immensa montagna di novità.

Le mie due valige (la mia e quella di mia figlia, che anche quest’anno mi accompagnerà in questa avventura) sono assolutamente inadeguate per contenere anche solo la sintesi della sintesi di quello che vorrei acquistare … senza contare quello che Caterina vorrà acquistare.
I am preparing our suitcases for the Essen Games Fier, where I will be from Thursday to Saturday to be captured and overwhelmed by the huge amount of new games. Over 800 exhibitors with over 800 new games offered and the certainty of not being able even to scratch the surface of this huge mountain of news.

My two suitcases (mine and that of my daughter, which also this year will accompany me on this adventure) are totally inadequate to contain only the summary of the summary of what I want to buy … not to mention that Catherine will want to buy something too!

Essen Preview #32: Tahiti and War of the Ring: Lords of Middle Earth Rules Preview

I know that we are all in the Essen frenzy, trying to read rules, previews, reviews, press-release in the desperate need to understand how to best spend our time and money in Essen with the (sadly) absolute certainty to not be able to go back with everything we want, the (sadly) awareness will be back home with much more inutility than needed and with the fear to miss the game all other gamers will have and talk about in the next weeks.

People not attending Essen can live this day with a big amount of ill-concealed envy and much less stress.

Here my quick impressions, just reading the rules, of some games: hoping it could help other gamers in their choices.

To optimize the time here the list of the games I’m talking about in this article: so you can just go beyond if not interested:

Novità attese alla Fiera del Gioco di Essen

Mercoledì 17 Ottobre inizia la Fiera del Gioco di Essen, l’appuntamento più importante a livello mondiale per gli amanti dei giochi da tavolo. Ecco una breve carrellata delle novità più attese.

La Fiera del Gioco di Essen è sicuramente l’evento più atteso per gli amanti dei giochi da tavolo. Sono oltre 800 gli espositori che partecipano, provenienti da tutto il mondo e sono più di 800 i nuovi giochi che verranno presentati. Ecco una breve carrellata dei titoli a tema fantascientifico più interessanti e attesi. Nei mesi a venire andremo a vedere in dettaglio quelli che maggiormente avranno saputo catturare l’interesse dei giocatori e dei media.

Ci sono prodotti nuovi ed espansioni per i titoli che negli anni hanno saputo riscuotere maggior successo. Tante le nuove case editrici che hanno deciso di lanciarsi sul mercato proprio con titoli a tema fantascientifico. In questa nostra carrellata ci siamo limitati a trattare i giochi che sono specificatamente fantascientifici, tralasciando quelli che toccano il mondo del fantastico (fantasy, zombie,… ) in settori tangenziali.

Essen Preview #29: Dragon Rage & Rumble in the Dungeon (Flatlined Games)

In the crowd of small publishers attending Essen 2012 there is one that caught my attention last year with a small but really nice release, Rumble in the House, I reviewed here months ago.

This year Flatlined Games will strike Essen again with Rumble in the Dungeon. This is a stand-alone game that can be combined with Rumble in the House: it will take Rumble in the House to a dungeon setting with a new twist: a treasure chest hidden in the depths of the dungeon, filled with riches and glory!

Notizie dal Mondo Ludico – Essen all’orizzonte

La fiera di Essen si svolgerà dal 18 al 21 di ottobre prossimo. Un appuntamento immancabile per editori, giocatori, appassionati e gente di passaggio nella per nulla ridente città della Renania. Le novità della settimana, come ampiamente messo in preventivo, sono tutte influenzate da quello che è uno dei primi due eventi mondiali per quanto riguarda i giochi da tavolo ed i giochi di carte.Continue Reading

Of course, I’m sure, there will be some misses but some publishers are not so happy to share their secrets or are not sure gamers are so thirsty of news about the Essen release to be able to orient in the huge amount of Essen novelties.
